The Operating Modes of the petWALK Pet Door

A petWALK pet door is much more than just a passage – it's an intelligent system that can adapt to your rhythm of life and the needs of your pets. Whether via the classic remote control or intuitively via app: You set the rules individually.

The intelligent operating modes

RFID Access Control

Do you want to ensure that only your own pets enter the house? When the access control indicator glows green, the door responds to the stored RFID chips. Without activated access control (indicator not lit), the door responds to the motion sensors and opens as soon as motion is detected.

The Time Schedule

With the time schedule, you define fixed time windows for outdoor access. Precisely determine the start and end times during which your pets are allowed out or in. This ensures, for example, that your pets are not allowed to leave the house during the night hours, but are always allowed to come in from outside.

Light Control:

Thanks to the integrated brightness sensor, your petWALK pet door can also adjust to dusk. You set a light value from which the door's functionality is restricted – for example, that no pet is allowed outside after dusk.

Our tip: The easiest way to set this value is directly under the desired lighting conditions. The door then adopts the current measured value for the future.

The "Gathering Mode"

A practical everyday scenario: A vet appointment is coming up, and you want all pets returning home to stay inside.

Activate the gathering mode by pressing the Exit Control button. Your pets can now still come in through the pet door, but no longer go out. This way, the entire "gang" is gathered.

Customized Configuration

Every home and every pet is different. Therefore, the following parameters can be individually fine-tuned:

  • Opening time: How long should the door remain open after no movement is detected?
  • Opening angle: How far should the door leaf open?
  • Sensitivity: How sensitively should the motion sensors react?

In addition, in setting mode, you can determine the volume of the warning and alarm tones or easily teach new RFID tags.

Control: Remote control or petWALK App?

All settings can be conveniently made with the included remote control. However, if you opt for the petWALK.control module, you will enjoy even more flexibility:

  • Intuitive handling: The petWALK app mirrors the symbols of the remote control but offers an even clearer and more modern user interface.
  • Worldwide access: Whether via smartphone app or browser – with petWALK.control, you can check the status and change settings even when you're on the go or on vacation.
