Error message E03: Check power transmission

If the error message E03 appears on the display of your petWALK pet door, this indicates that the power transmission between the motor and the door leaf is interrupted. In most cases, a clutch that is set too loose is the cause.

Why does this error occur?

The slip clutch is an essential component of your petWALK. It serves as an important mechanical safety device and additional pinch protection for your pets. Due to daily, intensive operation or an incorrect setting of the opening angle, the clutch can loosen over time. If it is too loose, the motor "slips" without reliably moving the door leaf – the door detects this and issues the E03 message.

How to fix error E03:

To restore the full function and burglary-resistant safety of your pet door, please proceed as follows:

  • Adjust the slip clutch: Carefully retighten the slip clutch. This is the hexagonal nut above the door leaf on the hinge side. You can find details on this in your user manual from chapter 13.

  • Safety first: Always disconnect the pet door from the power supply before working on the mechanics.

  • Acknowledge error: Once the slip clutch is tight enough again, reconnect the power and press the OK button on your remote control. The error message will disappear and the door will return to normal operating mode.

Regular maintenance protects the mechanics and ensures the lasting safety and comfort of your pet. Should the E03 error persist despite adjustment, our support team will be happy to assist you personally.
