Wall Mount
Installation in thick components
General
- Wall installation is certainly the most elegant and structurally optimal installation option. When retrofitting into masonry, only a suitable opening needs to be created, which is then clamped into the petWALK door system.
- Especially when it comes to new construction, window replacement or thermal renovation, petWALK shows its full strength and flexibility, because here you have the opportunity to integrate the door system perfectly into the building in a variety of ways in terms of building physics.
Cut out aperture
- The dimensions of the opening for the “Medium” model are 38 ± 1 cm x 53 ± 1 cm.
- For the “Large” model, the installation opening must be 48 ± 1 cm x 73 ± 1 cm.
- It is important to ensure that there is at least 3 cm of space around the side edges of the opening up to the edge of the component so that the frame of the petWALK pet door can be installed.
- Position the opening as low as possible to make it as comfortable as possible for your animals to use.
Tips
- For some installation variants, the use of a so-called "blind post" can help, which is attached to the shell and up to which the external and internal plastering work is carried out. The petWALK door is only installed after the plastering work has been completed.
- The space in the wall between the outer and inner frames is sealed airtight with a tunnel.
- Furthermore, the use of an external window sill (weather sheet) below the door module is recommended to drain driving rain and protect the thermal insulation.
- Alternatively, you can also provide the frame of the pet door with additional insulation for an outstanding level of thermal insulation.
