Backup battery: Safe during a power outage

Your petWALK pet door is designed for everyday life – and even small challenges like a power outage are taken into account. Thanks to the integrated backup battery, the door remains fully operational, allowing your pets to safely return indoors at any time.

How the backup battery works

If the power goes out, the petWALK pet door automatically switches to the backup battery. During this time, your pets can always return inside from outdoors, while the door is temporarily locked from the outside. This ensures your pets stay safe and your home remains protected – the door is in “collection mode.”

As soon as power is restored, the door automatically returns to its normal operating mode. The current status is displayed on the screen, so you can always see that everything is functioning as usual.

Maintenance and automatic charging

The battery charges automatically during normal operation. The backup battery is designed to provide up to 10 hours of operation, depending on usage, previous runtime, and the age of the battery.

With the backup battery, your petWALK pet door remains fully functional even during a power outage. Your pets can safely return indoors, the door stays securely closed, and you maintain full control.
