How do petWALK pet doors work?

Open Sesame!

petWALK vs. Flap
  • In contrast to conventional manual cat flaps, where your pets have to push the flap open with their heads, petWALK uses a completely different design principle.
  • With petWALK, a highly thermally insulated door leaf is moved by a powerful motor and, in the closed position, is pressed firmly against all-round seals and mechanically locked. This ensures a completely airtight closure and a high degree of burglary protection.
  • The pet door is fully electronically controlled. If the pet approaches, petWALK detects this using motion sensors and, depending on the configuration and if desired, checks whether it is your own pet using a transponder implanted in the animal or carried with you.
  • Then petWALK opens the door like an invisible butler and closes it as soon as the animal enters.
  • This ensures mechanically and with the help of sensors that under no circumstances can the animal, any other living creature or an object become trapped.

Easy handling

    • Studying complicated operating instructions and complicated commissioning is not necessary with petWALK pet doors
    • All functions can be controlled conveniently and easily using the remote control. Each button is assigned a function. The large, unmistakable symbols on the buttons correspond to the symbols on the display of the petWALK pet door. The current operating status of the door is shown on the display using traffic light colors ("green" means switched on or permitted, "red" means prohibited, etc.). A quick glance at the display gives you an overview of the operating status at any time.

Full control

  • The electromotor control and the RFID-based access control enable a range of convenient functions that are only available in this form with petWALK pet doors.
  • For example, you can specify at what times your animals are allowed inside or outside. A "veterinarian function" that only allows selected animals to enter but not to go outside helps, for example, with "collecting" the pets. A twilight switch can be used to prevent animals from going outside at night, and a moisture sensor ensures that the door remains closed when it rains to prevent the interior from becoming dirty. Of course, the door can give an acoustic signal as to which animal is currently entering or leaving.
  • By using chip-controlled access control for indoor use, it is possible to prevent small children from getting outside unnoticed through the animal door.
  • The door also notices if someone tries to open it without authorization and signals this with a loud alarm signal. In addition, the pet door can be connected to existing alarm systems, simulating an opening contact that the petWALK door only interrupts in the event of an attempted break-in. Integration with existing alarm systems is also possible.
