New door control: Firmware-Update 5.1

Starting from firmware update 5.1, all petWALK pet doors are equipped with an updated door control system featuring enhanced anti-pinch protection. After the initial closing motion, the pet door automatically reopens by about 2 cm before closing and locking completely. This function allows the pet to better perceive the door's movement and react to it if necessary.

Further innovations with firmware 5.1:
In addition to the updated door control, version 5.1 brings further changes:

  • RFID antenna readout time: approx. 30 seconds
  • Signal and warning tones: The volume is adjustable (quieter/louder), but can no longer be completely deactivated.

  

What else should you keep in mind?

  • Please make sure that the slip clutch is correctly adjusted. If it no longer functions properly, tighten it as needed. Detailed maintenance instructions can be found in our blog article:

  • The update to version 5.1 requires a control print with software version 4.0 or higher.
    If your pet door is running an older version, the update will not appear in the petWALK app.
  • Please note: Once you have updated to version 5.1, it is no longer possible to revert to a previous firmware version.

 

How do I install the update?

You can follow the step-by-step tutorial or use the instructions below:

    1. Open the petWALK app on your smartphone or tablet.
    2. Tap the gear icon in the top right corner to access the settings.
    3. Select the pet door you want to update.
    4. Scroll down until you see “Update” and tap it.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.

    After installation, your pet door will also operate with the new control system for smoother movement.
